According to European regulations, every company involved in the road and sea transport, loading, unloading, shipping and packaging activities of dangerous goods must appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor.

A Safety Advisor has, among others and with regard of the company's undertaking, the following duties;

- Monitoring compliance with the requirements governing the the carriage of dangerous goods

- Dvising the undertaking on the carriage of dangerous goods

- Preparing an annual report which must be preserved for five years and made available to the national authorities
